We have secured £447,000 funding from the Big Lottery People and Places fund to run our new intergenrational project to be know as POINT Across Communities (PAC).
PAC aims to bridge the generation gap by actively promoting and encouraging young people to embrace companionship and support from older members of the community. We aim to do this through a mentoring project and through intergenrational days out and events.
The idea is that young people will learn life and employment skills from older members of the community, but will also give back, sharing ICT skills and helping set up initiatives such as dementia aware living history projects.
Funding for our PAC project will enable us to continue and expand upon the success of our previous Big Lottery funded project POINT Means Jobs with the added dimensions of bringing the generations together.
We are looking to recruit older people as mentors for both employability and life skills. If anyone would like to volunteer please contact Zoe Davies (General Manager) on 01348871887
