Creating Connections Project – Digital Champions

Digital Champions started as a pilot in May 2018. Our young people are trained up to assist members of the community with any technology problems they may have. The public bring their laptops, tablets and mobile phones into the sessions and receive advice and guidance with any problems. Also, the digital champions have access to our laptops to help people with internet issues ranging from internet safety, settings and emails to skype and social media.

The project gained additional funding from Pembrokeshire County Council in October 2019, which has meant we are able to proceed and develop the project by recruiting additional digital champions and offering outreach sessions within the community across North Pembrokeshire.

The in house sessions run every Tuesday from 3.30 – 4.30pm at The Old Printworks, Parc-y-shwt, Fishguard and anyone is welcome.

POINT Digital Champions won Community Group of the Year at the 2019  Fishguard and Goodwick Community Awards and were finalists at the PAVS Volunteer Awards 2019.

The Creating Connections project are also offering outreach sessions and are looking for young volunteers (aged 10 – 25) to join the project.  Please contact helenbingham@pointypt.org.uk or give Helen a call on 01348 871887 for more information.
