During the school holidays we run ‘Fit Friday’ sessions where we take young people on local and further afield walks and other physical activities. Fit Fridays were developed to increase the amount of physical activity young people do each week and with the aim to get young people off ‘screens’ and have real fun in the outdoors.
The walks started as locally around Fishguard and Goodwick, but have since developed into walks across the Preseli Mountains and even up Pen Y Fan Mountain in the Brecon Beacons! We also do Mountain Biking, Rounders, Cricket, Dodgeball and Football to get young people more active.
A survey in 2018 showed that 96.8% of young people felt they were more physically active since taking part in the Fit Friday Activities. Over the summer of 2019, we are aiming to walk over 27 miles to raise money for POINT and Get the Boys a lift! For more pictures search on Instagram and Twitter #FitFridays
