The Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees (currently 9) have a huge range of different educational and professional backgrounds that provide the organisation with a wealth of expertise to draw upon.  We have a trustee who has been a longstanding manager of a local Health Practice and has a lot of expertise around human resources; we have another trustee who has spent many years as a civil servant (now retired) and has served a term as a County Councillor for the local authority; We have a trustee with a background as a social worker; we have a trustee with a background in management of statutory youth provision; we have a trustee with a background in accountancy who is able to provide advice and assistance on financial management; we have a professor (Animal Care) who worked in a university and has a lot of experience of writing funding applications and general research; we have 2 retired head teachers of secondary schools who have many years of experience of working with young people. 2 of the trustees also sit on the board at the local community theatre, Theatre Gwaun. We also have a recent addition to our Board a trustee who is a curate for the local parish. He has a background in youth work and volunteers for the Fishguard sea cadets. We have access to a local solicitor who is able to provide information and advice on legal issues as we require. 

Meet the Staff

Zoe Davies
General Manager

I have been working with young people for many years in a number of different support roles. I have a BA Hons Degree in Sociology and Gender Studies and a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling.

I love singing and playing the violin and I am in a local folk band called “The Skylarks”.

Katie-Marie Mitchell
Drop in Manager

I have been working with young people for the past 15 years, 11 of them at POINT! I have a BA Hons Degree in Youth and Community Work.

I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping and listening to “The 1975” at very high volumes.

Jessica Palmer
Nurturing the Future Project Manager

After many years experience working with people of all ages in support, counselling, business and project development roles, I have found myself working happily here at POINT since 2017. I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor (FD-L6) and have a BA Hons in Sociology.

I love being part of a local Samba band, spending time at the beach and being on / near the water

Finance Officer

I moved to Fishguard in February 2020, survived home-schooling and the toilet paper crisis, then joined POINT in September 2020! I have Qualifications in business management, accounting and childcare

I love spending time with my family, hula hooping and rollercoaster riding

Hannah Rackham
Youth Worker

I have been working for POINT for the past 7 years, but have over 20 years experience in youth work. I have a level 3 diploma in health and social with children and young people and my Youth Work Level 3 qualification.

In my spare time I love singing and acting.

Lynda Duffill
Volunteer Co-ordinator (Mentoring)/ Trainer

I am the Volunteer Co-ordinator for mentoring & lead on delivering Youth Mental Health First Aid as one of POINT’s Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructors registered with MHFA Wales. I have worked in a supporting role with young people for over 20 years.
I hold qualifications in Counselling, Developing Support Services & Delivering Adult Learning.

In my spare time I enjoy “Being Green” in my local community.

Zoe Aylward
Youth Worker Assistant

Before going to university to study my BA (Hons) in Education Studies and Special and inclusive education, I was an active member of POINT and carried out lots of work experience within the youth services. I am now going on to study my masters in Youth Work and Social Education. In my spare time I enjoy socializing with my friends and family.

Gethin Morris
Youth Worker

I have been a youth worker at POINT for 4 years after working two summers in a camp in America. I have my Level 2 in Youth Work.

I enjoy playing hockey and football (most sports to be honest) and card magic.

Jetse Martin
Youth and Community Worker

Jetse has been a youth worker for 11 years. Jetse started at POINT as a Youth and Community work Student and then progressed to a full time member of staff after he finished his BA Honors degree in Youth Work.

Jetse left POINT 4 years ago – but has since returned to his role! Jetse enjoys being active, trying new things and is currently turning an old van into a camper!

Matt Wright
(Counsellor – employed by Area 43,
working with POINT 2 days per week)

Since moving to the area a few years ago, I have completed a BA (Hons) in Counselling alongside working on a care farm and in a drop-in centre promoting mental health awareness and emotional wellbeing.

I love to travel and explore, whether that’s different countries and cultures or local beaches and woods. Being outdoors in nature is my happy place but I’m equally happy with a big bag of minstrels at the cinema.
