Counselling at POINT….. Youth Work Week Wales 2022…. 5 Ways to Wellbeing

Young people’s mental health and wellbeing is at the core of what POINT aims to support. Over the course of the pandemic we noticed that young people were struggling with mental ill health more than ever before.

In September 2020, after securing funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, the Nurturing the Future Project was born.  A project all about the mental health and wellbeing of young people, part of this funding is to provide counselling for young people

Proudly, in partnership with Area 43, POINT are able to offer a professional confidential counselling service at our Printworks building. The counselling is provided by a qualified experienced counsellor with many years of experience of counselling young people. It is free of charge to young people aged 10-25. We offer face to face counselling at our centre but can arrange telephone and video conferencing  alternatives for those who prefer or need to remotely access the service.

Over the first year and a half of the project, over 65 young people have accessed our counselling provision.

Counselling is a great way to improve your 5 ways to wellbeing by Connecting with a trained professional who can talk with you through any subject you’d like to talk about. Help you to keep learning through coping strategies. Seeing things from another perspective and helping you take notice of your emotions/ recognise how you are feeling and that its OK to feel different emotions.
