This project offers 1-2-1 support, drop-in sessions and group work with aims to improve your confidence/self-esteem, barriers to employment, CV building, application forms, interview skills, volunteering and work placements, benefit support, help to fulfil universal credit ‘obligations’.
This is a relaxed, welcoming space operating from 12pm – 2pm every Thursday called “Tea and Toastie” where young people can drop in, chat with peers or Youth Workers Zoe and Lee, and talk about any issues or concerns—or simply enjoy a free cup of tea and a toastie and take some time to unwind.
We also have regular visits from external support services, making it easy to access help in a seamless and informal way. For example, a representative from Path’s Tenancy Support Scheme visits once a month, Citizens Advice attends every couple of months, and we’re regularly joined by the Youth Outreach Team and Mind’s Employability Support Service. If a young person needs more specialist support, we can arrange in-house referrals during the session—creating a one-stop shop for a range of services and guidance.
